Hometown: Baltimore, Md.
I will be studying both French and Wolof, a Niger-Congo language, in Dakar, Senegal, as well as living with a homestay family. I am most excited about the opportunity to meet new people and improve my French skills while also learning a whole new language.
Maeve Taylor
Taylor is a Russian major with minors in French and Francophone studies and film studies.
Hometown: St. Louis, Mo.
I will be abroad in Almaty, Kazakhstan on the Russian Overseas Flagship Capstone year, taking classes in at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and then working an internship at a local organization during the second semester. Im most excited to get a chance to stay in Almaty again, this time for even longer than my previous stay when I was there in the summer of 2023 for study abroad through American Councils Russian Language and Area Studies program. I miss being surrounded by mountains and incredible natural beauty.
